Lapsang Souchong is one of the very original black teas from the Wu-Yi region of the Fu-Jian Province, south-east of China. It is harvested from a type of small tea bush and traditionally smoked with pine needles or pine wood. Its dry leaves are full, strong and slightly twisted in appearance, with a rich/dark red colour. It has a smoky pine aroma with a fragrant trace of natural flowers and Chinese dates.
Lapsang souchong is a fully fermented black tea. After being stored under ideal conditions (follow) for 1-2 years, its smoky pine aroma will convert into a roasted nut flavour with a smoother texture and lingering after taste.
This Lapsang Souchong is smoked with the traditional method, giving it a smoky flavor and smooth texture.
