JinJunMei (Golden Eyebrow) black tea is a Chinese black tea at its peak. This tea was invented as recently as 2005 by a group of tea masters, and is based on the traditional processing technique of Lapsang souchong.
The tea leaves are harvested from the original birth place of Lapsang souchong - Tong Mu Guan of the Wu-Yi Mountain area. It uses only the top bud leaf and the next leaf below and 500g of JinJunMei contains 60,000 - 80,000 buds. JinJunMei's appearance on the Chinese tea market quickly drew the attention of the tea lovers and has since been one of the most pricy teas in China.
The leaves of the JinJunMei are extremely elegant: a mixture of black, gold and yellow with fine, tight shapes. Its first brew is golden yellow, brightly clear with a fine golden fur floating on the surface. It has an uplifting mellowing first taste, followed by an elegant full-bodied aroma and beautiful/delicate after taste.
The unique nature and scarcity of this tea has made it to the collections of many tea collectors and the gift list for special guests.
