Unique to Pu-erh tea, many pu-erh teas are specially designed by tea masters. They combine premium tea leaves from various sources and process them with well guarded special technics to produce teas of harmoniously balanced aroma and flavor. They are often labelled by a series number after their brand. Some productions are one off and others are repeated. For example, this Old Comrade 9948 was designed by a well known Pu-erh tea master of more than 50 years experience - Zou Bing Liang (邹炳良). It's first production was in 2011 and all cakes are are labelled with a second series number based on the year of their production: eg 141 for the cakes produced in 2014 and 161 for the cakes produced in 2016. 

This Pu-erh cake on offer is an Old Comrade (老同志) 9948 raw (Sheng 生) cake 161 series. Although being a young cake, it is already bursting with high class Pu-erh orchid aroma. It is a cake of high collection value.
