Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun: The Absolute Pinnacle

If you have ever wondered what the absolute pinnacle of Chinese green tea tastes like?

This is it!

This isn't just any Bi Luo Chun;

this is authentic Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun loose leaf green tea, sourced strictly from the East Mountain (Dongshan) near Lake Tai, Jiangsu Province.

Among tea masters, the East Mountain is universally recognized as the holy grail—

the core region that produces the highest quality leaves in the world.

What makes the East Mountain harvest so legendary?

It’s all about the secret orchards.

Here, the tea bushes are traditionally cultivated right alongside a unique species of Loquat (Pi Pa) fruit trees.

Through natural cross-pollination and the shared misty microclimate,

these tea leaves naturally absorb a subtle, mesmerizing fruity note that you simply cannot find in factory-farmed varieties.

We don't mess around with commercial blends.

This batch is 100% authentically crafted, hand-picked in early spring,

and traditionally pan-fired by a local family that has been perfecting this art for generations.

A classic Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun starts off incredibly delicate and light,

but blossoms into a refreshing, deeply lingering sweet aftertaste.

If you want to experience the purest, most original Spring Snail green tea,

this is as authentic as it gets.

🍵 Brewing Guide

How to brew Tong Ting Bi Luo Chun perfectly?

Bi Luo Chun is famously tender and delicate.

To protect its microscopic white fuzz and release its sweet floral notes, it requires a unique approach known as the "Top-Drop" method (adding water first, then the leaves).

The Vessel: Beauty vs. Precision

  • The Tall Glass: Perfect for watching the mesmerizing "snowstorm" effect as the leaves sink, but it cannot separate the leaves from the water, often leading to over-steeping and bitterness for beginners.

  • The Gaiwan: Offers expert control over steeping time, but it completely hides the beautiful visual dance of the leaves.

  • Our Recommendation: To get the best of both worlds, we highly recommend our [Glass Tea Infuser]

It gives you a crystal-clear view of the "green snowstorm" while ensuring instant leaf-water separation for a perfectly sweet brew every single time.

The "Top-Drop" Ritual (Using Our Glass Infuser)

  • Temperature:

Use 80°C Water. Never use boiling water; these delicate buds are too tender and will instantly turn bitter.

However, if the water is cooler than 80°C, it will fail to fully awaken the tea's signature floral aroma. Precision is key.

  • Ratio:

A golden ratio of 1:50. For our 190ml Glass Tea Infuser, use 4g of leaves (adjust proportionally for other sizes).

  • Step 1:

Warm the Soul. Rinse your glass infuser with hot water and discard to warm the vessel.

  • Step 2:

Water First. Fill the infuser about 80% full with your 80°C water FIRST. (Do not put the tea in yet!).

  • Step 3:

The Top-Drop & Snowstorm. Gently sprinkle the dry tea leaves onto the surface of the hot water (Fill them in the inner chamber).

Leave the lid off. Watch as the leaves slowly absorb the water, unroll, and gracefully sink to the bottom like a green snowstorm.

  • Step 4:

The Release (1st Brew).

Once most of the leaves have sunk to the bottom, simply lift the inner chamber of the infuser out and rest it on the overturned lid. Enjoy the incredibly floral first sip!

  • Step 5: Subsequent Brews

For the 2nd brew, the leaves are already awakened.

Simply pour 80°C water gently down the inner wall of the infuser (avoid hitting the leaves directly).

Let it steep for about 20 seconds, then lift the inner chamber out again. For the 3rd brew and any onward, simply add an extra 10 seconds to each steep.

Master's Tip:

Always leave the lid off during and between brews. Smothering these delicate buds with a lid will "cook" them, ruining the floral aroma.

📦 Storage & Care

Protecting the Floral Freshness

Green tea is exceptionally delicate and acts like a "sponge" for odors. Proper storage is non-negotiable for maintaining that vibrant, floral character:

  • The Fridge is Best:

To maintain the lush flavor and aroma, we strongly recommend storing your tea in the refrigerator.

  • Airtight Seal:

Ensure the bag is perfectly sealed. We highly recommend using a [Tea Bag Sealer] to lock out moisture and persistent fridge odors.

  • The Golden Rule (Crucial):

When removing tea from the fridge, wait a while before opening the bag.

Allowing the leaves to reach room temperature prevents condensation from forming on the leaves, which would ruin the tea instantly.

The Truth About Premium Tea Pricing

The market for famous Chinese teas is notoriously complex.

The reality of the tea industry is this:

while a sky-high price tag doesn't always guarantee exceptional quality, a cheap price tag definitely guarantees a poor cup.

We strongly believe that authentic tea shouldn't be reserved exclusively for the ultra-luxury market.

Our mission is to find the perfect "sweet spot"—sourcing premium teas that deliver outstanding flavor and exceptional value for your everyday enjoyment.
