Walnut Zisha Teapot Tray – Round, with Brass Grate
Also known as: Hu Cheng, 壶承, Tea Boat, Teapot Stand
A small round teapot tray carved from solid walnut, made to sit under a Zisha (Yixing) teapot.
Zisha teapots love heat. Tea lovers pour hot water over the pot to warm it before and during brewing, and that water has to go somewhere. Here it runs through the brass grate and collects in the base below, so your table stays dry.
When you're done, just tip the water out through the little spout on the side. No need to lift off the lid.
Size: 20cm diameter × 4cm high
Material: solid South American walnut, with a removable brass grate
Drainage: storage base with pour spout. Tip the water out through the spout, or lift off the lid to rinse and dry.
Best for: a single Zisha teapot, brewing for one or two. It also works well under a gaiwan.
Pair it with a Yixing Zisha teapot to complete your gongfu setup.
