Travel Chinese Tea Set for 2 – Dehua Wild Flowers

A proper cup of tea, anywhere — that's the idea behind this travel tea set for 2. It pairs an easy gaiwan with two cups and a soft case, ready for a trip, a desk, or a slow afternoon at home.

An easy gaiwan is just a friendlier gaiwan — a lidded brewing bowl with a shaped rim you pour from by hand. You get the open, clean brewing of a classic gaiwan, with none of the fuss.

It's made in Dehua, Fujian — one of China's great porcelain towns — in fine white ceramic, then hand-decorated with wild flowers, leaves and blossoms. Pure, soft and elegant. The two cups stack and nest in different shapes, and the whole set tucks snugly into a knock-proof carry case. A quietly luxurious portable tea set, and a real delight for collectors.

The soft floral painting makes it feel fresh and unfussy — pretty without trying too hard. It makes a thoughtful tea set gift too — small, beautiful, and genuinely useful for anyone who likes their tea wherever they happen to be.

What tea to drink with this set

An easy gaiwan brews just like a regular gaiwan — open, neutral and quick to cool — so it's happiest with lighter, fragrant teas, and you can switch between teas freely:

Black tea and everyday pu-erh work too. For darker, aged teas, clay teaware suits them better.

Best / good  Works  Avoid

Ceramic gaiwan — neutral and quick to cool, so it brews delicate teas without stewing them. Best for green tea, white tea, yellow tea and young raw pu-erh.

Ceramic teapot — holds heat a little longer. A versatile all-rounder, best for black tea and relaxed everyday brewing.

Zisha clay teapot — retains heat and seasons over time, deepening the brew. Best for roasted oolong, black tea, ripe pu-erh and hei cha. Use one tea per pot, as the clay holds onto flavour.

Duanni clay is a porous type of zisha clay that breathes more than most. It softens astringency, which makes it the one clay that suits young raw pu-erh as well as lighter teas.
