Ru Kiln 10-Piece Gongfu Teapot Tea Set – Jade Green
Ru Kiln 10-Piece Gongfu Teapot Tea Set – Jade Green
This is a fine ceramic teapot set made from Ru Kiln ware — the kiln the Song dynasty placed first among its five famous kilns, and the rarest of them all. It's a quiet, collectable gong fu set, made for someone who wants to brew their best teas in something worthy of them.
The colour is the classic Ru jade green — the soft sky-blue green the Chinese call tian qing, "the sky after rain." Here it's left clean and unbroken: a smooth, even, single-tone glaze with no crackle, just that milky, jade-like depth Ru ware is loved for. Understated and elegant, the way the old imperial pieces were.
It's a complete 10-piece set built around a 210ml teapot, with a fairness cup to share from, a strainer, and six cups for the table — everything you need for gong fu cha, and a lovely tea set gift for someone who appreciates fine things.
What tea to drink with this set
The glaze is neutral and won't hold flavour, so you can brew freely. A teapot holds heat a little longer than a gaiwan, which makes it a comfortable all-rounder — especially good for fuller, warmer teas:
- Oolong tea — the held heat suits both light and roasted styles
- Black tea — a teapot is the natural home for a warm, malty brew
- Jasmine tea and other scented teas — easy, everyday pours
- Ripe pu-erh — fine for relaxed daily drinking
For delicate green tea, white tea or yellow tea, a gaiwan gives you finer control over heat — see the guide below.
What's in the box
- 1 × teapot (210ml) · 1 × fairness cup (cha hai, 150ml) · 1 × tea strainer with holder · 6 × tea cups (55ml) · 1 × hard storage case
- A complete 10-piece gongfu teapot set — brew, strain, share and serve
- Premium Ru Kiln ceramic, high-fired and food-safe for hot tea
- Smooth, single-tone jade green glaze — clean and unbroken, with that milky, jade-like Ru depth
- Comes in a hard storage case — well protected, and ready to give as a tea set gift
A note on the colour: Ru glaze can photograph quite differently depending on the light and angle. All our images are of the real product, and we include two photos in different tones so you can see how the colour reads under different conditions. The piece itself is an even, single-tone glaze.
Looking to complete the setup? Add a tea tray to catch the water and keep your table dry — a teapot and tray go together nicely.
