The Chinese have a long history of crafting tea pots, tea cups, tea strainers and tea filters in support of the enjoyment and ceremony of Chinese tea.

Gongfu tea cups - some background
The word gongfu (Kung fu) is an English translation for a Chinese word associated with the ceremony and preparation of fine teas and particularly relates to the skill or craftsmanship involved. It is now in popular use for any Chinese tea cup or tea pot of Chinese origin.
Valley Green Tea - which originated from Fujian province in China where the term is used - uses the term and other Chinese terms consistent with Chinese usage in this and other tea regions when describing our products. Most are gongfu i.e. gongfu tea cups and gongfu strainers, whilst all of our tea cups and tea strainers are of Chinese origin (even if adapted for western tea practise - in which case we don't call them gong fu).
