This is a Jun ceramic (钧窑) tea cup glazed by a unique Chinese ancient glaze called Tian-Mu, a dark glaze invented during the Song Dynasty in the Fujian of China. The unique glaze color and stunning smooth texture was admired by the Japanese Cha-Dao community and brought to Japan to be called Tian-Mu (天目) with many later variations.
The nature of Jun ceramic is known for its forever changing pattern, known as 'one color to enter the kiln and thousand patterns to emerge after', or Jun ceramic has not doubles. These pattern as naturally formed, but not man drawn. They are truly treasure to own and use
