What is yellow tea

Yellow tea is one of the six main classes of Chinese teas. It's production is similar to green teas, aside from  an additional process called 'Wo Huang' (渥黄) -  which involves a deliberate prolonging of a green tea sitting stage that  turns the  tea leaves a deeper yellow colour.

Yellow teas' characteristics

Yellow tea has a different taste from both the green tea or white teas. Yellow tea brew has a yellow tone, is fragrant, slightly sweet and has a refreshing taste. It is relatively unknown to even experienced tea drinkers and can sometimes be confused with old green tea.
