Tea Canister (ceramic) -Lotus art

This is a semi-airtight Chinese tea canister made of ceramic and decorated with a blue Chinese lotus design.

Ceramic canisters are traditionally used to store Chinese teas.  They are made of natural materials and protect the teas from factors which might otherwise damage them.  As ceramic products are also traditionally used as display objects of Chinese art, these teas canisters provide an opportunity to serve both decorative and functional purposes.

This blue lotus tea canister is semi-airtight and of small-medium size (280ml; 9.5X9cm), ideal for storing loose teas from opened satchels (25-50g) used at Valley Green Tea.
