Pu-erh tea is traditionally in a cake form that facilitates post-fermentation. This process increases its value as a result of smoother texture and richer flavor. Loose Pu-erh tea has relatively less value in this process, and therefore is more for consumption rather than collecting and aging.

Ripened Pu-erh has a unique earthy and woody taste with extreme sooth texture.
