Why is it not recommended during menstruation?

Chinese medicine has as the concept that "where  something is supposed to 'flow', it needs to flow freely, otherwise there will be pain".

• One of the charactoristics of the Lotus leaf  is that it assists in reducing bleeding.
• When one is menstruating, this will interfere with the blood flow and therefore is considered to be not ideal according to Chinese medicine.
