Bi Luo Chun (Spring Snail) is rated as one of the top three Chinese teas. Produced in JiangSu province DongTing lake area, the tea is made from the very fine tips of the tea leaves using a very traditional and complex process. The tender tea leaves are so fine that 0.5kg of dry tea contains up to 60,000 - 70,000 tea leaves. The dry tea leaves have a spiral shape covered by the very fine fur of the tender leaves. It has therefore gained the name of Spring Snail with an ancient tale attached to it. The depth of the tea is beyond description.

The locals describe it as: ‘stringy slim, spiral shape, full body fur, flowery fragrance and fruity taste, it is so tastily refreshing that it makes one’s mouth water.’  When made in a glass tea vessel, the elegant tea leaves seethe as white clouds rolling, accompanied by the fragrant team, this tea certainly deserves its reputation. It is considered as one of the finest Chinese teas frequently used by Chinese officials as gifts to other diplomats.

Quality & Package Size :  We offer 3 quality grades (High, Premium and Exclusive) in a choice of 2 sizes (50 or 100 gm packs). Our High grade is comparable to teas nominated as premium quality in some Australian stores we have sampled. Our Exclusive grade is at the level above which a regular tea drinker from the region where the tea was produced would not easily distinguish further improvement in quality.

We take special precautions to purchase new season stock, air transport and store refrigerated to preserve original tea quality.

Shipping : We ship using Australia Post and advise quotes and expected delivery times with each purchase . This is obtained directly from Australia Post's web site during the final stages of the purchase-checkout process and based on total weight of the package in the cart.

Bi Luo Chun has been a favorite tea of mine for a couple of years now. To find a source of organic Bi Lou Chun was very exciting to me.  Not sure what  Green Tea to order?

If you are new to green tea, start with any of the teas in the High quality grade. Move to a Premium or Exclusive quality for special occasions or as you start to really appreciate a particular green tea variety. ( ie don't pay for more then you can appreciate!)

Dragon Well is a well known chinese tea always popular with Asian customers. Some Western customers are very enthusiastic about Bi Luo Chun.

For those completely new to chinese teas  and from a western background we recommend Tie Guan Yin ( belonging to the Oolong class and not strictly a green tea) as being the most accessible for western first timers in our experience.
