Question: I have heard that drinking green tea is good for health. I purchased some tea bags from supermarket and I did not like the taste at all (bitter and rough). Are all green teas like that? Answer: premium green teas should not taste bitter at all. The reason most of the tea bags taste bitter is because the broken tea leaves are severely oxidised. This is why Chinese (who invented the teas) do not use tea bags and only drink fresh teas. Oxidisation is tea's worst enemy. Elements that facility this process include: light, high temperature, broken leaves and age (except Pu-erh tea that was created to age and ferment).
