Other names: Zhengshan Xiaozhong, Lapu Mountain Small Plant

Lapsang Souchong is one of the original black teas from the Wu-Yi region of the Fu-Jian Province, south-east of China. It is harvested from a type of small tea bush and smoked by pine needles or pine wood. Its dry leaves are full, strong and slightly twisted in appearance, with a rich/dark red colour. It has a strong smoky pine aroma with a fragrant trace of natural flowers and Chinese dates.

Lapsang souchong is a fully fermented black tea.   After being stored under ideal conditions (follow) for 1-2 years, its smoky pine aroma will convert into a roasted nut flavour with a smoother texture and lingering after taste.

Lapsang souchong is a tea that goes especially well with meat curry dishes.

Storage: Room temperature and vacuum seal.

This is a great black tea, but because of its strength not as many leaves are needed in the cup as for Keemun. I drink black tea with a little milk
and honey, so I am not sure what it tasts like by itself. VGT continues to provide high standard tea, thanks. David
